The Caoin Method
An embodied approach to grief, voice, lineage, and nervous system healing rooted in the ancient Irish practice of ‘Caoineadh’.
January 29th – February 1st, 2027 Westcove Estate, Co. Kerry
Before grief became something hidden,
it was sounded.
Through breath.
Through lament.
Through the body.
Through communal witnessing.
In Ireland, keening - caoineadh - was once a living practice of grief
expression rooted in voice, ritual, relationship, and land.
It belonged to the people.
To the body.
To the moment sorrow needed sound.

WHAT IS THE CAOIN METHOD?
The Caoin Method is a modern path of keening rooted in the Irish tradition of caoineadh.
Historically, keening was a communal expression of grief - vocal, relational, ritualised, and embodied.
It belonged to the people.
To the land.
To the moment sorrow needed sound.
The Caoin Method honours this original grief current while offering a safe and contemporary framework for women to explore voice, lament, lineage, and embodied grief in the present day.
This work is for the living.
